Anatomy of a great prompt
Structure every prompt around subject, action, setting, style, and lighting so the model has enough signal to render what you imagine.
- Lead with the subject: "a golden retriever puppy"
- Add action and setting: "running through a snowy field"
- Close with style and lighting: "cinematic, soft morning light"
Controlling style and mood
Style keywords steer the overall look. Combine an art direction, a medium, and a mood to lock in a consistent aesthetic.
- Name a medium: "oil painting", "3D render", "photograph"
- Reference an era or movement: "1980s film", "art deco"
- Set the mood: "moody", "vibrant", "minimal"
Negative prompts and fixes
Tell the model what to avoid. Negative prompts clean up common artifacts and keep your composition on track.
- Exclude artifacts: "no extra fingers, no text, no watermark"
- Reinforce framing: "centered, full body, no crop"
- Iterate one change at a time to see what each edit does
Motion prompts add a temporal layer. Describe camera movement and pacing on top of your usual scene description.
- Describe camera moves: "slow dolly in", "orbit shot"
- Set pacing: "gentle motion", "fast dynamic action"
- Keep the scene simple so motion stays coherent
