Sora alternative questions
Is Sora still available?
No. OpenAI announced in March 2026 that it was shutting Sora down: the Sora app and web experience closed on April 26, 2026, and OpenAI said the Sora API would end on September 24, 2026. If you relied on Sora, you need another video model.
What is the best Sora alternative?
It depends on the shot. On PicX Studio, Seedance 2.5 is the pick for longer clips with native audio (up to 30 seconds), Kling 3.0 Pro for 1080p motion with optional sound, Wan 3.0 for low-cost drafts and longer takes, and MiniMax H3 for fast turnarounds. They all run from the same prompt box and share one credit balance, so you can compare them on the same prompt.
Is there a free Sora alternative?
You can sign up for PicX Studio free with no card, and your first image is on us. Video generation needs a plan (from $11.99/month) or purchased credits (one-time packs from $5); we don't offer free video.
Does PicX Studio have Sora 2?
No. PicX Studio doesn't offer Sora 2 or any OpenAI video model. For images we do offer OpenAI's GPT Image 2. For video we offer Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini and 2.5, Kling 3.0 Pro and Standard, Wan 3.0, MiniMax H3, FLUX.3, Happy Horse 1.1, Grok Imagine and Gemini Omni Flash.
Which Sora alternative makes video with sound?
Seedance 2.5 generates native audio with the video. Kling 3.0 Pro and Standard can also render sound (69 and 54 credits per second with sound). You can also add a voiceover with ElevenLabs TTS V3 or music with ElevenLabs Music, both on PicX Studio.
How much does AI video cost on PicX Studio?
Video is billed per second of output. A 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip at 480p costs 225 credits, and a 5-second Seedance 2.5 clip at 720p costs 800 credits. Plans start at $11.99/month, or buy a one-time credit pack from $5; credits never expire, even after you cancel.
