TikTok profile picture size
TikTok profile pictures are square images shown as circles. The commonly recommended minimum is 200 × 200 pixels, which is the size this TikTok PFP maker exports. On your profile page the picture is shown fairly large, but next to comments, in search results and on videos in the feed it shrinks to a small dot, a few dozen pixels across.
| Where it shows | Shape | Approximate size |
|---|---|---|
| Your profile page | Circle | Largest view |
| Feed (on videos) | Circle | Small |
| Comments and search | Circle | Very small |
| Upload | Square image, min 200 × 200 px |
How to test a TikTok PFP before you upload it
A PFP that looks great as a square can fall apart as a circle: ears and hair get cut, logos lose their corners, and small text becomes unreadable. That's what the circle preview here is for. Treat it as a TikTok PFP tester: if your face isn't obvious in the result preview, zoom in on the original first (crop tighter with the Image Cropper) and try again.
TikTok doesn't let you reposition the photo in its circle after uploading on every device, so getting the crop right before you upload saves a round of trial and error.
The PNG this tool saves is 200 × 200 with the photo already masked to a circle. TikTok applies its own circle on top, so what you see in the result preview is what people will see. If you want a larger file for other platforms as well, make a square crop with the Image Cropper and let each app apply its own circle.
Tips for a profile picture that works at tiny sizes
Most people see your TikTok profile picture at thumbnail size, next to a comment or on a video. Design for that, and look at the result preview from arm's length before you download to judge it at a realistic size.
- Fill the circle: your face should take up most of it.
- Use a plain or blurred background so your face pops.
- Strong contrast beats detail; small text never reads.
- Use the same picture on Instagram and YouTube so people recognize you.
